Default Indy vs Vette?

I hate to say that im even thinking of this, but a dodge dealer has a 77 vette (L82 auto) for sale, and Im thinking of selling my truck to get the vette (as well as paying off my debts). Im going back on sat to look at it some more and drive it, if the dealer gets the title by then, ill post pics of it when i do. Im just getting a little fed up with the slow, lumbering, money pit that comes with making a show/track truck. What do you guys think. You think I can get a decent price for the dodge?

How many people can say they have a fast Dodge gas truck? How many people can say they have a fast vette?

If you decide to part your truck to return it to stock PM me please I would be glad to buy some stuff off you.

Unless that Vette has serious modifications, your Indy should eat that go-kart for lunch!

The original specs for 1977 Vette with the L82 option, lists a 350ci engine pumping out a whopping 210hp![sm=lame.gif]

It was only capable of 15.5 seconds in the 1/4 mile. [sm=sleeping.gif]

yea, i realise that, but you also need to take into consideration that its a 350 (everything is 5 cents to mod) thats 9:1 comp with big ol iron 2.02 heads and retarded combustion chamber design, a poor intake design, and a horrible exhaust system. The car is also nerfed by "innovative" 70's emmisions. Now if I can convince them to let me finance it Im soooo doing that, and keeping the truck.

true, but the "fast" dodge truck doesnt go fast . If it ran 13s it would be fast imo, but idk if I have the ability to get there, what with going away to school after next semester and all.

If i sell the truck its going to stay modded as it is, unless the buyer wants me to bring it back, in which case Ill let you know, but a few of the things can be swapped to basicly any pushrod v8 with a carb. Im still uncertian what Im going to do with the scoop. I may put it on and paint the truck and jack up the price another grand.

In your original posts, you said you would do it to pay off your debts. Then you say you hope they let you finance it. That's more debt. Which is it?

I'd pass personally. As far as vettes go, that's a weak one unless you really put lots of money into it (which if that's your plan, then go for it). Plus, it will need more up keep since it is 30 yrs old. Just my 2 cents.

dont do it... from '74 thru the lat 80's the vetts were junk IMO... actually I think you have to go all the way up to '97 before you find one that is decent.

I'd pass on the vette, they make terrible daily drivers, take it from someone who knows.
If you were buying it for a project car that would be one thing, but if you get it be prepared to be five-and-dimed to death. If money is tight now then get that vette fever off your back!

PS my mazda 3 would totaly smoke that vette.

i say keep the truck, keep your ground clearance so you don't have to worry about sloped driveways or potholes as much. and keep your ability to haul more than a small suitcase, lol
