Default 98 1500 oil dispearing

My nephue truck 1500 is losing oil some where, it's not dripping and no sign it burning it but where is it going, he got the 360 in it.

My Dakota would do that every once in a while between oil changes but his is sucking it up fast.

Any answers will help as I will probaly will be working on it for him Thanks Herb

check for a lot of vacuum at the PVC breather. (Opposite valve cover from PVC.) If there is lots of vacuum at that hose the plenum gasket is blown. very common

Thanks for the help, I check on the vacuum tomorrow, he's got 3 weeks before he has to start collage, he smart school work, but don't know how to work on anything.
But than if I made nothing but A's in school, maybe I wouldn't have had to learn how to keep my trucks going by working on them myself, but we got to get it so we don't have to run 6 hours up and back to fix it there.

I forgot all about that. Should set up a video camera and try to catch him on tape. If we could stop him, we would never have to change the plenum gasket...lol...

OK I got unhooked the breather line and the pcv valve and held both closed and was pulling a vacuum without the pcv, so it looks like time to pull it .

It was easy to do on my Dakota but the 1500 has part of the engine hid, but that's what young flexable guys are for, and he needs to learn enought to get byor know he's not being ripped off, but we will see how much he ends up doing on it
