Air Vents
My air vents in my 96 Ram are all broken. The ***** in the middle aren't connected to anything, and they're just screwed up. Has anyone changed these before? Where did you get new ones? How hard is it to take them out and replace them?
You could try the parts counter at the dealership, or hit up a salvage yard and take from a truck that won't need them any more.
I haven't checked the Ram, but I had an old ford that you just pulled 'em straight out of the dash;they had a groove in the dash and a tab on the side of theair ventpiece that held them in.Thetab in thecenterjust controls thefins back and forth and is all one piece. It's not connected to anything in the back. Look in there with a flashlight and see if I'm right about that. Otherwise, you'll need to remove the dash, there's about 8 screws/bolt that hold it down, and the gauge panel pulls straight off.

Ours just pull out too. One of mine was actin up, only the center piece would move. Popped it out and cleaned it in some hot water to get the dirt out of the small areas. It justpops all back together and everything moves like it should.
