Default screwed help??

i have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 with a v8 magnum and im basically screwed i went 2 move the truck today and i put it in drive and all it did wus just rev the engine and sit there. its like its in netural but its not.. i tried reverse and 4 wheel both and still just reved i have no clue.... CAN ANYONE HELP ME???

if only it wus as easy as sumone stealing it.. its a automatic tran i forgot 2 say that.. but i didnt get 2 check anything out cause i wus l8 for work

It is unusal for all thegears on an auto to go out at once with no warning unless you blew a cooling line or cooler and lost all the oil.

Check for oil in the radiator.
Check all your linkages.

PS a new shaft is cheaper than a trany.

ill check that tommarow cause its 1 am here and im starting 2 get tired does anyone else have a few more ideas otherwise i gotta call my friend for a ride again tommarow

I would also have to say look at the fluid. For it to just stop working, without warning (grinding noises, slipping), i would say you probably lost a lot of fluid somehow. Like Captain Squalus said, check for oil in the radiator and also check the cooler lines. maybe you broke one and didn't realize it. Is there fluid on the ground?
