if im doing about 60 i have to push the gas to the floor to get it to downshift most of the time. Is that normal? if im drving around town it will downshift fairly easily. could it be the TPS?

 

No it's not the TPS
You know you can just push the OD button.
There's also a cable that can be adjusted on the TB,
I"m not very familiar with it on these rigs, but someone
else will ring in with an opinion.

 

so i know this is a dumn question but... what exactly is the point of OD anyway? why is it always on? is there a way to make OD off the default?

i remember reading about adjusting the cable.. for got about that, i will try that, thanks

 

it's there for fuel economy purposes... the sooner your in a high gear, the better the mileage.

sounds like your cable is not adjusted right off the TB... there should be zero slack in it with the throttle @ a closed position.

 

oops, forgot to mention that some have found that the cable will stretch and will work alot better if it's replaced. I'd say if you have no adjustment for it, then replace it.
