What's a good TIRE for me??
Currently I run 35/12.5/17 Dunlop Radial Mud Rovers on my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. I think they ride pretty good, and I don't have a problem with them during spring-fall. BUT, here is my concern..I know since it is a mud tire, it will not excell during the winter, especially on very icey roads, and I do not want to be the guy in the big 4 wheel drive truck sliding around more than a honda civic during a storm lol. So, can you guys help me find a tire IN THE SAME SIZE as I have now, that is going to be an all around tire so I can use it during the spring through fall, but will also be a tire that is just going to kickass on the icey roads and in snow. Keep in mind this truck is VERY lifted, so atleast if the truck is going to be so top heavy, I want to make sure it's a tire that will hold its own best on the ice, which scares me the most of anything. Let me know what you guys can come up with, I know you probably know more than me about tires, thanks!
I also have Geolander's, the AT. I love them, they seem to do awesome in the winter. We gets tons of snow too, and ice, so I have alot of experiance with them in winter.
As for the MTs they're alright but not really good for actual off roading, a friend of mine has them and he calls them the Geolander No-Mud Terrains

This past blizzard season here in Colorado I ran my near bald ProComp A/Ts. They are great in the snow and ice. Not good for wet slushy stuff though. (which we don't really get here. it's too dry.)
general rule of thumb.. good winter/snow/ice tires are skinny... cut through the snow and provide great traction... my nittos ( 315/75R16) suck in the winter... too damn wide ..

I have 33x11.50 BF Goodrich All Terrain K/O's and haven't had any problems yet...on rain/ dry/ mud, haven't been through snow/slush yet..so this winter i'll find out how they handle
I got 285/75s (33X11.50) TrXus m/ts and they haven't let me down yet. Good traction in mud, slate, water, wet roads, dry roads, quiet on the highway. Not sure about snow yet as winter is still a couple of months away, but I don't anticipate anyproblems judging by how well they do on wet roads.
