A/C vent issues
Wayne...thats where I am at a loss. There is no line that comes out of the reservoir. I have the two lines at the check valve. One heads to the reservoir and one thru the firewall. I imagine the one through the firewall must be going to the harness which makes me wonder what the hell the reservoir does. I thought one went in and one came out the reservoir but that wasn't the case. If it is just a matter of 'noodling' a line thru the firewall and feeding the harness then that doesn't seem so bad. I just didn't know where the harness got it's feed from. This is a pain. I just don't want to pull the dash...UGH that will suck!
Where can I get the vacuum line. I guess I will need about 5 feet.

Sorry I was a little vague. I just re-read the above. There is only ONE vac line on the res. Just where the line goes through the firewall to it, there is an all-in-one tee/check valve. The check valve is for the cruise control (or it may be plugged if no cruise) to keep it from bleeding vacuum off the a/c controls. The other two lines on that tee go to the reservoir AND the multi-harness. They are continuous. The res. actually only acts as an expansion area to bolster the tiny vac line. You will notice that 2 small lines run through the firewall. One up high to the res. and the other about a foot over toward the center of the engine compartment and a little lower. THAT is the one to the harness. If you pull that tube from the tee, there should be vacuum at the tee. Try pulling on it and see if it pulls free from the firewall. If so, you found the bad tube. Just replace it. You can try a good auto parts store, i.e. NAPA, but not all stores carry that type vac tubing. Depending on your area, it may have to come from the dealer.
Hope that clears things up a little. BTW, are you sure BOTH check valve test/hold OK? Does the cruise control (if available) work?

Wayne,
Yeah, I pulled both lines off the valve and had good suction on the valve. Followed the one line up to the reservoir and checked there and it was good. Followed the other and it goes thru the firewall with the two copper lines that I believe are for the heater core. I just can't find it on the oppisite side because of everything under the dash. I pulled the glove box, dash bezel, radio, ash tray and everything else shy of the whole dash and still can't see it.
I have no problem cutting it before it goes thru the firewall and pushing a new peice thru but just don't know if there is another tee under the dash that feeds something else also.
Thanks for your patience with me here...I am just trying to put off pulling the whole dash and anymore advise is greatly appreciated.

No other tees or fittings. I wouldn't drop the dash for this repair. But, make SURE that the line is bad before surgery! See if you can get another vac source to the harness to test it. Could the line be kinked in the area of the harness? Is it worn through (a hole maybe) where it goes through the firewall? Listen under the dash for possible hissing sound. Just some thoughts. If you find a hole, the line can be repaired with a piece of 1/8" I.D. rubber tubing as a patch.
