i haven't towed anything yet but, i did try to pull a guy out of a ditch and had to stop
his car was caught on the curb and it was tearing his exhaust off on the curb.
so i told him i didn't wanna pull it out if it was gonna break something i dont need him to try to claim that
i helped him but while helping i messed his car up.

better safe than sorry.

def needs a weight distribution kit, but seeing as how its not yours, who cares, we have a 25 foot camper that i tow with my 2500 ram. weights about 5500wet, and my ram pulls it no problem.

Yes you HAVE to regear the front too. Other wise when you put it in 4wd your front tires will spin faster then your rear....you can see how that can be bad.

And since were posting pictures of towing crap, heres my truck with my buddies rig. My rig buildup is linked in my sig.

Whats wrong with you guys?!Scared to tow a camper?Isnt that the reason you buy a truck? I have had two Rams, a 98 1500 and currently a 99 2500. My wife is on her 3rd Durango and we have towed a travel trailer with every one of them. Also towed a show car from Hindy to Kansas City and back twice. I buy a lot of used cars and tow a car hauler around all the time. They have all had the factory tow pkg for what thats worth. And last winter had my 2500 with my Meyer plow on and had a loaded trailer behind AND 800 pounds of salt in the bed! I admit that that might be a little abusive. If you cant run the crap out of it why have it? Never had any tranny problems. Could use more power when towing, but hey, what are ya gonna do.

This just proves dodges trannys arnt as bad as people say...

Ill admit, I was alittle worried when I saw all the posts about tranny problems but, now I dont even think there is a big issue if its maintained right.

My truck has towed a 9000 lbs horse trailer, and 3000 lbs alot, and before I owned this truck the government used it to tow things across the US. they put over 25,000 miles of that on my truck... i dont know how big the trailer was but they had a little trailer brake module set up.

When I got the truck the trans fluid wasent perfect, but judgeing by the other maitnence on the truck it has never been changed, so 59,000 miles on the same tranny fluid and it notbeing bad at all isnt bad.

I love my truck!

i dunno my old 98 ram 1500 5.2 litre auto blew the tranny @ like 70k, lol and i wasnt really beating it, thats why when i bought my 2500 i went for a 5-speed, and never looked back.
