I've towed some heavy stuff before with my truck, stock trans, never rebuilt. Was probably around 6,000 lbs over 600 miles.
Its all about how you drive, accelerate nice and slow, on hills just let yourself slow down and ride it out, even if your well below the speed limit (as long as your not a hazard to other drivers) instead of slamming it to the floor, getting her into 2nd gear and getting up it at full speed, stuff like that.
I even did a majority of it in OD since I was sucking down gas at a crazy rate w/out OD. I just did it on perfectly flat stretches, when a hill loomed in the distance I just poped her out of OD and slowly climbed the hill.

Awesome! looks like you got about 6000 lbs back there. My travel trailer is about 3600 wet, and I'm not scared. Looks like you got a little too much weight on the tongue, if you plan on doing that often I would recommend a weight transfer hitch. Got mine used on craigslist for a 100 bucks - levels the truck perfect and really cut the sway down.
it is stock transmission.. and yea.. its alot of weight.. the back of the truck was also loaded down with cynder blocks.. i tried to put most of that weight just in front of the axle .. i took my time.. and took it easy with it.. and she did great.. theres s ome things i wanna do to it.. and had it broke...say the rear end wnt out on me.. just gives me a boost to upgrade it anyhow.. and i think im going to get a weight transfer hitch.. been thinking about it for some time... i wont be doing this often.. was a favor for a buddy of mine.. had to move it from one 'campground' to another

That's just awesome! I saw this video on the internet of a dodge similar to that one pullin an 18wheeler and it'sloadout of a ditch. It was pretty sweet. I love that dodge though.

def needs a weight distribution kit, but seeing as how its not yours, who cares, we have a 25 foot camper that i tow with my 2500 ram. weights about 5500wet, and my ram pulls it no problem.
