I have a 98 Sport 4X4 with a 360 and the guy I bought it from is running 2 seperate pipes off of the manifold into a cat with dual inlets and single outlet, straight pipe from there with no muffler and then splits into 2 dual angle corner tailpipes. I heard the same thing about true dualing and losing power and torque so what I want to do is run a set of Edlebrock shorties with 2 seperate 2.5" pies to a new cat (Magnaflow if they have one with a dual inlet and single outlet) then 3" staright pipe without mufflers to the same split corner tail pipes. Thoughts! Concerns! Suggestions!

Yeah those are exactly my tips in your picture there, the 22" long ones, with the huge slash cuts, i even got the same dual split rear, its fricken nasty. I think thats def.something ill do later downt eh road tho, when i run the headers, i want to get a dual inlet/single outlet. That sounds pretty darn cool, that way you get the flowing of a true dual, without the loss of torque. All I'd have to do is swap out my cat and woolaa, i could have longtube fricken headers that dump into a dual 2 1/2"inlet, 3" single outlet then from there it could dump into my flowmaster super 44. For now though, The 3" ingle inlet/out hi-flo magnaflow cat will do just fine, p/s, did i mention this system ****ing barks??! FLowmaster did a hell of a number with this muffler, it sounds like a fricken cobra mustang, its just AWESOME! Im excited to tackle that though, the headers will really help this system out more, and mark it bark even louder! Good thinking though guys on the dual inlet/single outlet catalytic converter, i never though of that one!

I would like to revise my last statement. I think the reason why my exhaust doesnt have the "bite" you describe is simply because of the high flow cat. I mean there pretty much is no other explanation. One of my friends x-husbands had a 03 with dual out rear. stock everything except the exhaust was a flowmaster 40 SI/DO. and it definately had a louder rumble all the way through. Mine kind of diminishes after 2.5 grand. My stock cat doesn't rattle, so whats causing the sound difference?

I mean it definately could be the hi-flo cat, I've always just assumed that if you are going to put the money into an exhaust system, to make it a true performance system, that stock cat just needs to be addressed. Even still after I've completed rerouted and redone the exhaust system and all of the primary components, it still could use more work. Headers definately need to be applied to maximize the system and the truck to its fullest potential, once that is in, the cold air intake and a computer chip will have any v8 rocking, especially this 360 dodge offers. I know what you are saying too though, my truck bites HARD from 1500-3000 rpms then slowly dminishes, unless I am hitting hard off the line or hitting it in general, it at times is nonexistent, and i like that, because nobody wants that noise ALL THE TIME, and if you do, just floor it lol. But I am very happy with the system. Definately a hi-flo cat is a geat stepping stone. But headers just need to to be into the equation if you want a TRUE exhaust system, because even the cat-back fad isnt doing it for me, i want mroe than just a badass tone, I want people to know that noise is representing power and speed as well lol, plus more flow from headers equals MORE NOISE, can't beat that right??

Dont worry about the cops. Im going to assume mine is louder than jesus comming back in armagedon, and I havent had a bother from them yet. Though mine is deceiving, inside its quiet (in the drivers seat) when im crusin arround, but outside at 1500 its death to the world.
