New Flowmaster Super 44 Exhaust is CRAZY!!
I just got my new exhaust system put in today for my 01 dodge ram, and it is nuts!! I had my guy put in a 3" magnaflow hi-flo catalytic converter, a flowmaster super 44 muffler, single in/dual out, and then dual side sweeps with 22" long, 4" diameter magnaflow tips. It is sooo damn loud, I can't even get past 2rpms and its already droning like a motha****a, the cops are goin to pull me over, but its the craziest thing ive ever heard, sounds like a fckin mustang, im so happy! I cant wait to get pics and videos up of it, it blows the old exhaust system that came with the truck soo much out of the water. When i get videos of the new exhaust, ill show the old exhaust and the new exhaust so you can get a feel, but it is nuts guys! Can't wait to get long tube header, cold air intake, and a chip, thing will be even mroe nuts!

RE: New Flowmaster Super 44 Exhaust is CRAZY!!
Well I just put on my flowmaster 44 over the weekend and to be completely honest, it is not as loud as expected. Of course I do not have headers or high flow cat. I have the headers sitting in the house.... but i leave for college in a little over a week and spare time in not abundant. To me, it sounds just about the same of my dad corvette with dual super 40 delta flows. Im sure once I do the headers, it will make all the difference. HAHA, I ran it once i heated the old muffler off and THAT! is REAL POWER! My friends were like... why put a muffler on, that thing sounds awesome. If this thing ever becomes a work truck or off road, u can guarrentee the exhaust will be comming off. There is a definate difference between stock and this. The best is putting it in 1st, driving to around 3 grand, and let go of the gas. I love the back rumble. I grabbed the flowmaster kit 17171 and bought the 44 muffler, swaped it for the 50 series suv that came with the kit. so if anyone wants a brand new SI/DO 50 series suv muffler, just PM me.

I don't know what is is about these dodges, but my god do they ****ing bark. My brother has a pimped out F-350 with a 7.5 liter v8, 460 big block! He ran a true dual with the same muffler I did, Flowmaster Super 44, and sure it screamed, but nowhere near as loud as my one flowmaster rumbles. All I did was run a hi-flo cat, super 44 muffler, and two 22" long magnaflow tips, and i hit the gas and its already gurgling so loud at 2 rpms, its nuts! My brother just can't understand why mine is so much louder because his engine is way bigger and has two mufflers, its just ****ing sweet. The dual sweeps look AMAZING too, the tips are just massive, I am very happy with the sound and the system, it sounds disgusting lol. I noticed when I was looking at the new exhaust that the y pipe off the manifolds is rediculously small, what the hell is up with that?? In some places the piping looks to be like 2.25", which is unheard of. So I am definately eager to open this puppy up more with some sick longtube headers, and a nice 3" y-pipe. After that, a cold air intake and a nice chip should have this thing tearing apart anything! I'll have videos up of the truck with its new exhaust later today, pce guys!

Hey, make sure you shoot the film in the cemetary again and tear that strip up! I LMAO when I found out you were in the cemetary last time! Thoughts of little old ladies in black being terrorized by the Crazy Ram driver and his f-bomb dropping friend!

In reguards to Cereal Killers post, The point of running a dual setup this way... (cat back) would be because the headers I got are smog headers... so they are legal. I can not find a legal longtube setup, so I figured i'd just bolt to stock y pipe. Not so much for performance, but looking for a good sound. And yes, at 2 grand, it does sound awesome. I often wonder what would have happened if i bought two mufflers, put a y-pipe on after the cat, and two SI / SO muffler to do the duals, what kind of sound difference would you have. These mufflers sound great at idle and the mid range, but any higher, it sounds just like stock (in my case) It seems as the more air you shove through...(high rpm) the less of the exhaust sound you get. So if too much air is going through..., and you half'd it. would you gain a more pronounced and longer sound range? or am i just pulling this out of the air? (haha... yea probably.. its 11:36pm)

Well heres my concern in regards to running a true dual with the headers. First things first, its illegal, secondly i already have a system in there now. But heres the big one, you loose a hell of a lot of torque when you run a true dual. My brother lost a lot of torque off the line with his true dual, obviously he gained quite a bit more high end, but trucks arent relaly meant for high speeds, they excell of the lines, like most v8 trucks and cars do. I mean theres no question, having performance headers is going to be considerably better than those junky stock manifolds, no questions. As it stands now I have a single inlet/dual outlet system right now with a 3" hi-flow magnaflow cat. What would be better than running a y-pipe off longtube/shorty headers?

Nope, all he did was just but up to his manifolds with 2.50" piping straight though. He's running dual cats, and two flowmaster super 44 mufflers. His engine is so huge so it was able to handle 2 1/2" piping straight though, but still, you could tell he lost some bite off the line, but going on to onramps on the highways now, damn i got to tel you,t hat thing ****ing hauls ***.
