Default Transm fluid... brand?

As Ford has Motorcraft,, Dodge uses mopar,,, where do you guys find a source for dextron II in the recemended brand or equal.. I dont want to use Costal" or Autozone stuff,,, for 96 Auto 4wd 360

ATF+4....Is what you want to use .. on the trans dip stick says use dex III but in the owner manual says to use a ATF + or greater... MOPAR ATF+4 can be had in your local walmart...

the best there is and the best thing you can do for your tranny.

I've decided to go with Valvoline ATF-4 on my next change because of what I've read.

I would say yes (unless po was not smart). Most likely, you will have at least atf+3. going to atf+4 will be fine. 4 replaces 3.

All ATF+4's are synthetic base stocks.
That's what it is synthetic ATF

who is po ? calling me ****...lol.....j/k ...i only use atf+4 (do not add any additives to these trans unless you want to kill it) got 2 in the shop that added additives...$$$$

Additives are expensive, but if they are quality like BG Products, they are worth it.

I totally agree with Fox BG is some awsome stuff. I want to run Royal Purple in my tranny but I read up on it and they don't make an ATF+ some my buddy who is a service manager said I could but I would have to add a can of BG something or other for tranny's. They used it to flush my Jeep's transmission and my truck's TB and it works my friends. I haven't changed the fluid yet because it's not due but I trust his knowledge.
