Why does my dodge ram 1500 suck so bad at cruising speeds, it is a complete dog. I avoid highways as much as i can because its emabarrasing being passed by a ford with trailer

Wow, that's really vague. What engine, what tires, what axle gears, do you have a CEL, any other relevant info to help diagnose the problem?

The truck is not inherently bad on the highway.. mine will do over 110 with ease, not that I go that fast regularly, but I was in Western Nebraska one night and decided to see how fast it would go. So what I'm getting at is that either the truck is modified in a manner which is detrimental to speed and acceleration or there is something wrong, you just didn't give enough info for me to help more than that.

318, 3.55, 29 inch tires. I have tried everything, cleaned sensors, etc

I also have dual exhaust, k/n air cleaner, gutted cat, complete tune up, new timing chain, new o2 sensors. i have tried it all

Something else is wrong then. What kind of Dual exhaust? Are the pipes too big maybe?

I know my truck seems to want to "cruise" right around 75-80. and has no problems accelerating between 60 and 100.

i know you said you cleaned the senors but have you replaced any of them? I had a real sluggish truck on the highway till i changed the TPS sensor. Solved all my problems.

what kindof rpm's are you seeing ? my truck is 65 mph @2000 rpms 4.11's with 285/70r17 (32.5")
and always wants to step out of overdrive. there is no accelereation in overdrive at that speed
