Default Check Engine Light.... Need Help

I got my truck back from the shop having the tranny rebuilt and every thing was runnin fine. now 4 days back from the shop the check engine light is on. how do you pull codes? or is that something you have a shop do?
any help will be appreciated

you can go to a dealership, a parts place like autozone, or use a Chipprogrammer

Some local small repair shops will do it for free. I know i always run them for free for customers that stop in.

you can always do the key method
turn the key on-off-on-off-on and it should show a code on your odometer screen.

the key method didnt work. So if i take my truck to a place like autozone they will do it? how much will that cost?

autozone, pep boys, advance, etc will read them for no charge.
