The basic 727 pan, while it does have the same bolt pattern would not work on my 46re. I purchased a B&M 727 aluminum pan thinking it would work and it also would not fit due to the ridges inside the pan. I began grinding the ridges down, which would have allowed the pan to fit when I ended up replacing the tranny anyway. Now I have a Hughes Performance extra deep aluminum pan on my new tranny (holds 4 extra quarts). I've checked a number of performance sites and am finding that the 727 and A-518/A-618 pans are different.

If you're interested in grinding the remaining fins from the B&M pan I have I'd sell it to you for $75 plus shipping. Ipaid a lot more than that for it but it's been sitting in my garage for a year.

Let me know via e-mail or IM.

I was using an electric 4 inch hand grinder with cutting and grinding wheels. Just takes elbow grease, time, and a dust mask as it is pretty messy. Since I don't need it now, I've decided not to complete the work.
