how to tell gears without truck? as in i only have 2 alxes to look at no truck

ok im gonn go look at a front and rear end in about an hr my question is how do i tell what geat ratio is in it? i if its 4.10 im gonna get it but i dont want it if its not and all the guy knows is it came out of a dodge 94ish 1500 and there no longer with the truck he sed the tags are gone too and that if i want i can pull the covers off and have a look but i need to know how to tell any one know maby a diffrence in teeth count may?

turn the wheel 1 revolution and count the revs of the pinion/u-joint/yoke. 3 1/2 (3.55) vs 4 1/8 (4.10)

if the previous owner never changed it, isnt there a little sticker or something on the front of the engine comp near the belt diagram? im sure thats where i saw mine.

yah the axles are not with a truck or id just do that and now he isent home so i guess ill half to look tomorow. anyways i figured it out how to count the teeth. count the number on the ring then pinion then divide the number on the ring by the number on the pinon. for example if ring has 41 and pinion has 11 then 41/11=3.73 so that would be the ratio

Gear ratio is on a sticker in the glovebox on mine. Assuming it's stock.
