Default ? about working with fiberglass

Im going to be starting the hood scoop install soon, and im just wonderin about percautions i need to be aware of when dealing with fiberglass that will be put out in the elements? iv made a fiberglass intake tube before for a previous car, which turned out decently, but wasnt the prittiest thing. This time i want it to turn out proper, does anyone have any tips or tricks for working with fiberglass and making it look smooth? Just persistant sanding i guess?

With glass we used to sand with varying degrees of finer and finer sandpaper, using water and a very little bit of dishsoap to keep the sandpaper from binding up. Not 100% surebut I think fiberglass is the same way.

I know some types of fiberglass, depending on composition, have a "grain" to it, like wood. Try sanding with the grain.
