Default van audio problems

I was looking for some general help from the electrically savvy members. My parents have a 2000 Chrysler Town and Country. For awhile I was driving that intead of my truck so I installed my head unit in it. When I did the steering wheel mounted audio controls stopped working. When I reinstalled the stock head unit they continued to not work. I was wondering if anyone knows what I could've messed up and how to fix it.

did you reinstall the little plug back into the unit. there should be (for steering controlls) a third plug that goes into the unit. as for the aftermarket one, there most likly wasn't a plug for it. So did you plug in 2 or 3 wiring harness when you reinstalled the unit?

Yeah did you connect the wires for it back? They don't work with aftermarket H/U's unless you get an adapter but they should work when you put the stock H/U back in.
