Pacesetter long tubes
I am extremely happy with the performance and quality of these headers. However, the chknsht gaskets that they sent along with them leave alot to be desired. A word of warning to anyone running or considering these- buy a set of felpro gaskets. I got the evil header tick this week. Upon removing them, I saw that thegaskets that Pacesetter supplied had blown out in two spots and looked as though they were getting ready to go in about five more. I questioned thier durability when I first saw them, but just assumed they were made out ofthe newest, latest, and greatest gasket material. I should have followed my instincts.
How well are the fit on these? Do they have any space left for clearance or were they extremely hard to put on? I have a set of their shorty headers and am not impresses with the performance and have wanted a set of long tubes. Also how much were they and who did you order them from? thanks
They were not hard at all to install. The drivers side is a little tight clearance wise, but very manageable. There are some pics somewhere in this thread:

Ya know, I dont remember if I even had gaskets from pacesetter, but I have the tick that iv just been dealing with. I thought it was the collecter, and it still may be, but after I check them out, im gonna check out the header gaskets. I really dont remember, though, if I have felpro's or pacesetters on there. Thanks for the heads up tho
The post was primarily pointed at you and Bigschwerm, since you two are the only ones I know of running these. You can tell by the sound whether its at the head or the collector. If the gasket goes by the head, the tick will be more pronounced. The Pacesetter supplied gaskets were made from a white paper-like/cardboard material. The Felpro gaskets are metallic.
yes i had the same problem with mine they only lasted a week also.....so i went back to summit and ordered these: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku
best set of gaskets i bought yet...i had the headers off a few times and reused these with no problems....

i just put mine on last week but summit sent me the wrong y-pipe. some of the easiest headers i have ever put on. i had to remove one of the studs on the driver side but left the rest in. they both went in from the top. i could have used the 2wd ypipe if i wanted to do some cutting and use flex pipe, but i wanted to do it right so i will just have to wait for summit to fix their mistake. i will put up some pics when everything is installed. dont let anyone convince you that longtubes kill lowend, exhaust scavanging works hand and hand with valve overlap. collectors on shorties arent designed to scavange, they are designed to fit factory pipes. i will report back when everything is installed. oh, get percy's aluminium gaskets, they will NEVER leak
