starter wont budge
ok since i fried the starter i figure idd replace it while everything on the frotn end is ripped apart..well got the 2 mounting bolts off and double cheked for any other bolts....and this thin wont move..its like cemented to the bell housing..i used air chisel, hammer and pry bad...banging on the starter with a mallet...so im lost..why wont this starter come off????
i wonder if the gear has been thrown into the flywheel and never returned.. i bet that would make it hard to take off... other then that..i cant imagine why its doing that...
2 bolts out mine fell right on my forhead

is it not budging at all or are you able to move it any?....there's a ground strap there that prevented me from getting the starter back in....i suppose just get a good luck at it with flashlight to see whats up
this is a stupid question - but there should have been one bolt and one nut (on a stud). both removed from the front (starter) side of the flywheel. its a little hard to see up in there. you didn't happen to remove a wrong bolt did you ?
..you might have removed the bolt for the ground strap that i was talking about previously, and didn't remove the stud/nut for the starter....they are on the same stud. the one on top....you should stop prying so you don't break you block...

correct.
mine just sort of fell off without any hassle.
this might be a little extreme, but you might try starting the nut back on the stud and the bolt in - just enough to keep it from falling off. hook up the wire and bump the starter. see what happens....
