Default 95 Ram 1500, Replace Cat?

So on saturday I bought my first a 95 Ram 1500, and I am thinking about replacing the cat because there seems to be a big lack in power from what I can tell in 3rd. It barley chirps coming off the line, I though I was just use to my STi (07 STI, built to 350+hp). Truck has 160,000+ miles and it looks to be the original cat, so is this worth replacing now, how do the stock ones hold up?

The stock cats are known to go bad. Usually before 100k, so I would count on it going bad soon. It may have been replaced under warranty once already.

If you have $250-$300 you don't mind spending in case that isn't the problem, go ahead.

You canpick up a Magnaflow direct-fit cat from Summitracing for $160. Part number MPE-23285 This is the one I am going with.

Only problem is we aren't truck based...

All import sports car based with the main focus being Subaru WRX's and STi's. Also do EVo's, 350Z, 240's, there is a few truck things we can get but usally you have to do buyin's with the company (usually $2K or more) to start getting decent prices on products. Only reason I bought this truck is cause some "genies" decided to pull her car out and then stop in the middle of the road. So I T-boned her in my 07 STi which totaled my car. And this truck will give us something to put all the products in when we go to shows
