If u have heard/owned a Dodge 5.9L with a glasspack, what did you think?
I am thinking about going with a glasspack on my Dodge. 1- they're inexpensive, and 2- I kind of like the sound of 'em. But, having never heard one on a Dodge 5.9L, I wonder what it would sound like... Also, does length matter? The length of the glasspack, that is...
Please, for my benefit, only respond if you know first-hand...no guessing or heard it from a friend, etc.

have pacesetter shorty headers, dual high flow catco cats, and thrush red devil glasspacks on my 97 SS/T with exits just ahead of rear wheels. loud, throaty, but not obnoxious.
whole system, with new o2 sensors and installation, cost me about $800.
can provide summit racing part numbers if you'd like...
all in all... i dig it. if the factory cat wasn't completely plugged, i wouldn't have done it. but considering it was cheaper for me to buy the whole setup i've got now (without professional installation) than it was for me to order a new cat off dodge, i couldn't turn it down. if your cat's trashed or you've got the green laying around, go for it. if not, hold off. the cat won't last forever and it is a huge pain in the *** to get sorted out. you'll only be able to run o2 sensors to one side, as they're heated and the circuit will only support two sensors (not four like you'd need for a true-dual system).
hope this helps!

That is how my exhaust is set up on my ram, 2 glass packs. It has a nice deep rumble to it, i like it, but its not the best choice there is out there.
The dakota had a 5.2 with just 1 glass pack and a Y system, sounded nice, but not as deep as the 5.9.

I have a glasspack with a 5inch tuip welded after it. It sounds GREAT! much better than flowmaster does. but thats just my opinion
i have a flomaster 1 chamber muffler that comes off to a side pipe with a camaro lookign tip..it sounds great and its on the right ride to let people know your passing them.
My Parents 1992Dodge Van with a 318 sounds great with the glasspack. They sound much better after they are broken in. Takes about a good month before they get their permanent sound.

I had true duals with glasspacks for a couple of weeks and I thought it sucked. I don't know what was up with it, but it sounded terrible on my truck. I would say go with some flowmasters or no muffler at all. That's just my opinion though. I've heard them sound okay on other trucks, but not on my 5.9L.
Glass packs, esspecially on these trucks seem really raspy... to me raspy sounds liek ****...
I would say dont do it, just spend money and get a real muffler (flowmaster).

I have the Thrush version of a Flowmaster two chamber muffler and I love the way my truck sounds. I paid $40 for the muffler and then $45 to have it put on at a local shop.
