The Best Tool in the Box, OBDII Scanner
Having an OBDII vehicle it's hard for me to be without this tool.
It works on all OBDII vehicles and can really tell you whats going on inside.
I recommend anyone who likes to wrench their on rides to get one.
I've had mine for over a year and don't know how I got along this far without one.

It was a GROUP BUY on the Mazda3 forum.
I would not have paid $249 for it.
Make sure you are looking a the base tool, you can get it specific for certian cars to trigger any of their sensors individually for more $$.

You can download a free working copy. It is not as pretty, but does the same thing. The dashboard function is pretty cool. You will need to buy a obd2>serial cable or a obd2>usb cable. These can be bought off of ebay pretty cheap. I'm sure any program that you buy would come with one.
The above program has sample data logs that you can run and watch the sensors and virtual dashboard do thier thing.

These people have a couple of different options:

You can either buy the flash tuner and the software and tune it yourself, or you can buy the flash tuner and take it to a dyno tuner and have him load the tunes onto the flasher. The flash tuner will hold four program at a time; the original and three others. The SCT software is widly used by shops with dynos.
