NAME THAT MUFFLER!!!
My dad had a tricked out 98 GMC 454 dually with mufflers I loved the sound of. He said they reminded him of a corvette.....anyone have any clue which one it was? anyone have suggestions? I want a deep roar that screams power.......
go to the manufacturer's websites, like flowmaster, magnaflow and others. They have sound clips.

Try flowmaster 40's. That's what I got. If you click the link down in my sig there's a sound clip of it. It's on stock exhaust to so You can imagine if it had a performance cat, headers, bigger pipes etc...
If that's not loud enough for you try flowmaster 10s. If that's still not enough just dump the exhaust after the cat.

Magnaflows have a better, cleaner, more sporty rumble.
Flowmaster is loud and raw, like trucks are suppose to be.
I have a Magnaflow and love it, but Flowmasters are awesome too.

I just checked Flowmaster and the 50 & 70 series are made for big blocks. I remember the 70 being a very typical application. I don't think it would be appropriate on our trucks, but there is a good chance that is what was on the 454.

I'm thinking of waiting untill I have the money for the whole nine yards (headers, cat, and mufflers); My plan is to get the tubular headers that join to one pipe, get a 3.5" cat, and splitting to two 2.5" pipe out the back. This way I can use just two o2 sensors and keep my ecm..... Should this work? Also, do you get more rumble from two mufflers or just one?
