Might want to check your plug wire routing. P0304,05,07 are the ones that will crossfire if not routed properly. Easy and free to check.

Hello Everyone,

The plugs I put in where Bosch Platinums w/ a single tip. I gapped the plugs to .035. I was wandering if the 02 sensor was bad or any other sensors where bad, wouldn't that throw a code. I checked the oil and it looks normal and is at the full level. Very clean. I checked around the engine for wet spots and no wet spots. However I felt the fuel injectors and 4 and 5 had almost no ticking going on at all or thier was a significant difference between them and the other injectors. What does that mean? I am going to replace the 02 sensor on Wednessday. Thanks for all your support, I am going to continue down your list in most significant order until this thing is running healthy.
Well there you go. You're getting 304 and 305 codes and the cylinder 4 and 5 injectors sound gummed up. I would try replacing those first. You may want to try a new set. Make sure you check the rails for debris and clean them good. Get your injectors online. Everywhere elseI have seen them is way overpriced. If I was buying a set right now I would get the Holleys from Summit. I am running Accels and have had no problems with them. You need something that will deliver 23-24.5 lbs/hr @ 49psi.

I think it was vw and dodge who cleaned his with a jewelry cleaner? Maybe he will chime in.

As suggested above, you may want to check your wires too. If you get a good set, the routing won't be as crucial.

You can check you injectors once you get them out with a 9 volt battery and a tube or hose with gas in it with 40-50lbs of psi on it.

Gasoline is very volatile. Kerosene or mineral spirits would be a better choice.

Hello,

I am looking for fuel injectors and summit racing has venoms for $585 for 8 for my truck. I want to get nice fuel injectors and am looking to drop around 200-400 not $600. Does anyone have any good links that I could visit. I found 8 Venoms for around $250 but they are not for my Truck.

Here are a couple:

The pcm might have a hard time adapting to the ford 23's. On our trucks they will flow about 25.8lbs/hr.
The ford 21's would be better but I couldn't find them on Summit. The 21's will flow 23.5lbs/hr. wich is essentially stock. The Accel 23's will flow 24.7lbs/hr. Alot of the stock replacements flow 24.5 lbs/hr.

Forgot to mention. You may want to go to Holley's site, get some part #'s there, and plug them in over at summit. Just remember the flow ratings there will probably be at 42.5 psi. Our trucks run 49psi. If the formula isn't in thier injector section post back. It is a pita to type out.

When they come in I am going to have them installed over the weekend.

I will let you know the outcome.

Damn, I missed this when I responded originally. Yes, a sonic cleaner with mineral spirits is a cheap investment to clean the injectors.

I also recommend pulling the fuel rail as I bet there's an ugly story inside of there. Check out my engine threads for more info. Also, replace the pressure regulator, which is located atop the fuel pump assy. It acts like a secondary fuel filter.

Hello,

All the new fuel injectors have been installed into the truck. The fuel is flowing good. I still throw two misses. 304 and 305. One time it came back as 305 and 306, and also I've seen 307 and 303 thrown. I am next going to replace the Oxygen sensors. I also on the side have to replace the brakes cause it sounds like atleast one of my pads is metal on metal. I would really like those misses gone. If the oxygen sensors do not do the trick, what am I looking at replacing or fixing next?

Thanks,

Jeremy
