Hello,

Does anyone know of really good diagnostics software + tuning software that I can use on my labtop on my truck?

Hello,

My Caliper on my driver side was replaced due to sticking. My rotor was replaced on the driver side and I got pads on both the front sides. The back ones are like new. With that aside, I now ordered three NGK oxygen sensors that will be shipped in and installed next week. It's going to be awhile so I got bored and started fixing little things like my Fog Lights and Air Conditioning -both fixed. I took off the battery cables and cleaned off the connections really well with a scuff pad and battery cleaner. Then put the cables back on firmly. Disconnected the battery for over 10 minutes until I reconnected it. Here is my trucks symptoms as of now.

With new fuel injectors - gets over 300++/Full Tank City Driving -I like that
Sometimes idles between 0300 and 1000 rpms - For that past couple of days it's been consistent at about 0350
Sometimes shifts funny when overdrive is on - when it's right in between gears, say 35-40 and 55-60, it'll be bouncy. So I just turn overdrive off.
However sometimes it works awesome even when overdrive is on. It'll either be one or the other duringone whole trip.
I Still have check engine codes P0300, P0304, P0305.

Grr. Ive never had so much trouble getting rid of misfires. Thank you guys for all your help. And thank you Mopowar for saving me money on the Fuel Injectors.

Have you pulled the plugs and looked at them since you installed the injectors? If the injectors were dribbling you could have fouled them. It doesn't take long. Also, give the new injectors a listen like you did the old ones to verify it isn't a pcm issue.

This is free:

You will need a obd2 to serial cable. You can find them on ebay.

Hello,

I installed the 2 new 02 sensors. The check engine light went off and came back on as 305 and just that. I checked it again after a trip home and still just 305. I'm taking your suggestion that the plug is fouled and will replace that.

Here is what I have left to figure out and fix

*P0305 - Misfire on cylinder 5

*After running for awhile idle is @ 100rpms whether @ a stop while in drive or in park and will usually kill the truck.

Here is what I've Done to Powertrain:

1 New Distributor Cap

1 New Distributor Rotor

8 New Spark Plug Wires

8 New Bosch Platinum Single Tips

8 New Fuel Injectors

2 New 02 Sensors (1 on Cat, 1 behind Cat)

Cleaned PCV Valves

Check your plug wire routing per the TSB.

jhunteruwwedu --- I've been through this same problem --- misfire codes 300, 301, 302, 303, etc. and the long series of testing and suspected parts replacement.I fully tested every sensor. And guess what -- I never got thed*** codes to go away. I finally gave up and just drove the vehicle anyway. About6 -8 weeks later the check engine light went out and stayed out. Out for about a year now.

Mopowar is probably right --- to much fuel being injected.I noticed my plugs were indicating rich fuel when I was searching for my problem. The problem is why? If the plugs are being fouled by to much fuel, you might try to set the plug gap closer and make firing easier. Say go to .025 or maybe even .020 versus the recommeded .035. If this makes the misfire codes go away, you will at least know you are on the right track and it cost nothing but a little effort.

This is just a guess but .....the Cat gets fouled for whatever reason, the O2 sensors get fouled as well and feed back poor data to the PCM .... which in turn screws up the PCM program and the PCM says inject more fuel. You also may want to just do as Mopowar suggest and just go to WOT in second gear a couple of times and see if this will burn outany fouling in the Cat, O2 sensors, and plugs.Gets everything good and hot.Again easy to do and cost little.

By the way It's now about a year later since my check engine light went out on it's own and ...... IT"S BACK AGAIN !!
