Default New Truck

I am probably trading my truck in for a 2001 ram 1500 laramie SLT tomorrow, and I need a few opinions. First, a description: quad cabSWB, 4x4, 5.2 automatic, dark blue, tow pkg, bedliner (drop in), fogs, brand new tires (BFG mud terrains). Now the bad: 84K miles, quarter size paint chip between back window and top of bed, the littleover head consoledoor is missing. The dealership wants $11,900 for it, but I was thinking of offering $9,000 for it to get the ball rolling. Any opinions?

id start at 9000, and moan like hell over the paint chip, when or if you come to a price ask for a coke and a full tank of gas and then sign contracts.

For what it's worth : I just bought (about 6 weeks ago) a 2001 Quad Cab 1500 Laramie SLT w/ power everything - 5.2 L. Automatic - drop in bed liner - Firestone Wilderness LE tires (will need replaced in probably the next 500 - 1000 miles) -interior and body in very good shape ( a few minor scrapes anddings but it's a truck : right ?) - 118k miles - and I paid $5500 for it. I have probably put about $1500in it since I bought it.

There is a guy working up there who seems a little soft, I think I'm gonna work him over a little bit.

i paid $11,800 last nov 2001 1500 sport offroad with 78k miles couple dings but in superb shape had bfgs 1/2 tread left. they messed up on a piece o crap trade in got extended warranty for almost nothing.

never feel bad about getting up and leaving right in the middle of the deal if it doesnt go your way ..... it works like a charm.

i got my 2001 ram.. 11,500 ... with 109k on the clock.. to me it sounds like your gettin a decent deal.. low milage.. new tires... the paint chip can be worked out.. along with the door on the console... salvage yard prolly has one in your color .. i would most def. go for it.. with the tires it sounds like you might have a lift of some sort.. so yea.. to me.. money well spent.. one thing u need to do tho... before you buy it... pull the air hat off.. and air cleaner.. take a flashlight and look down inside the throttle body ( you have to open it with the throttle cable) .. is there any oil pooled up there?? if there is.. tell them to replace the plenum gasket (upper intake) then you can sign away

OH - I forgot . The salesman told me my truck was originally on the lot for $9000 but had been lowered already to $7000 when I looked at it. I got it for $5500 because I convinced them I was looking at another truck for the same price and was going to buy one or the other.
