Im buying a Evo!

Hmm... Evo's and STi's have around 300hp and lose roughly 25% to the driveline. It should be close with the mustang. Must have some bad drivers in them.
Throw a turbo back, tune and mbc on that evo and look for 300+hp

I ran a turbo 3 for a year with 320whp I tuned it raced on the track against fast and slower cars so, yes I do know what goes on on the track in REAL races with powertrain loss and traction, the whole nine.
which is why i said STOCK evos
sheesh you people need to read.
it was 235 N/A no laughing gas
headers,CAI,short shifter, single chamber flow masters
and that was it as far as perf. wise..

I guess you couldcalla Lancer with ALL the options.
That's a little too mych $$ your friend put into his car to gain about 35hp.
And I'm tinking the Evo's he's running aren't really worried about impressing/beating him. We just had a 'DSM' dyno day and one of the guys brought out his new Evo with exhaust and put down 262hp on a Mustang Dyno.
I juts don't see a 2000 stang walking all over an AWD car that makes more at the wheels than he does at the crank.

you people obv. arent reading my whole posts.. i dont care about well this evo with this aprt put down this, im not talking about modded evos
they were STOCK EVOS how much more can i emphasize this????
a good exhaust on a turbo 4-banger will produce some good gains..
regarless.. an evo only makes about 275 ft/lbs of tourqe (rated) 25% of that assuming that 25% is the correct loss would be about 210 ft/lbs.. not that much.. and with a curb weight of about 3400 lbs...
the rustang put down 235/275 at the wheels.. with a curb weight around 3200 lbs.. (2000 was the lightest year made, fun fact for you all)
anything above 100 wasnt even worth a race cause the evo has the top end that the mustang just cant hold with..
not trying to dis on anything, just sharing my personal experiences..

I'm reading your complete post and I unserstand what an exhaust on a 4g63 engine will do- I have one. But even without an exhaust it's still going to put down over 240hp. And remember I said a Mustang Dyno, which typically read low.
But each to his own, it's all good.

Man go get U a daytona. I have a 91 that I have complety redone ( except for the paint), and I get almost 38 mpg. Its a 2.5 liter non turbo too.Well I did alot of work to the engine, but go find yourself a Daytona thats siting. If its broke 9 times outta 10 you need to buy a mopar performance head gasket and your good to go...just my opinion.
