I can buy a jet stage II chip for $5.00 and was just going to try it for the hell of it......Is there any way it can hurt my motor? I have headers, duel exhaust, 14x3 Air cleaner conversion, breather on valve cover.....

Thanks, and sorry i know your sick of hearing about jet crap...

Spend some real money and get a set of Taylor 10.2mm wires, slap some 2x platinum plugs and a high performance cap and rotor in there, now you're squawking.

I wouldn't waste my time or money with no aftermarket chips unless you find a real good one, then I'd be for wanting some kind of warranty... The thing is the biggest performance improvement comes from doing all the basic maintenance first, when's the last time the oil and filter was changed, and are you running a 5w-20 synthetic oil?

A truck that's lacking of or is behind in scheduled maintenance has no room going in for high performance modifications, the first step is to always make sure everything is done to it that can be, how about the trans fluid and filter? Push a truck past its limits with some dirt in the tranny and you're asking for trouble, not to mention that smooth operation is the first step.

pcv valve, fuel filter, wheel bearings greased, maybe 02 sensors, breather cap, idk what else for now.

The muffler and intake work is on track.

Just don't go to McDonalds, nothing like a burger that knocks on your colon a half an hour after you eat it to get out.

I despise that place.

Back to the subjet, I guess it could be harmful to your engine. For $5 you can try it and see if it shortens the life of your $1k engine.

I sense you don't think i know what im doing with my truck........If i put on headers, intake, and exhaust i think i would know to do the basics......Before the intake work I put new high performace wires, Bosch +2 plugs, changed oil and filter, tranny fluid, changed to better header gaskets, breather cap is a week old..... Everything else was done 2 weeks ago.........Maytbe its me but why should I be changing O2 sensors and PCV valves that are in perfect working order? If you want to spend your money on that go ahead....It seems you have an attitude, I appreciate the input and I'll assume your just sick of hearing about jet chips...thanks

everyone else- Thanks I'm not going to risk it, off topic question, but did anyone have gears such as 4:10's put in your truck? How much did it cost?
I don't want to get into engine internals, so im looking for a different way to gain acceleration

You might want to rethink the bosch +2 plugs.

HankL has a VERY lengthy post on spark plugs and he won't hestitate to whip you with it it you ask him to.

Do a forum searchfor spark plugs and his name and you'll be bound to find it.
