popping sound from speakers
ok this is my problem the other day I was driving to work my stereo worked fine, after wokrwhen I got in my truck and turnedit on I got a popping sound from my speakers and no sound, so I got home and started looking into this, I checked all my fuses to my amp, stereo and power source and all where good, I check all the wiring to the speakers and amp also all where good.when I disconnected the amp the popping sound was gone, could it be that my amp is blown. HELP
When you unpluged the amp you wernt getting any sound from your speakers at all music or popping correct? I have heard cases of when you blow a speaker it will cause this. If it is the stock system i recomend upgrading it. If you have the money i would recomend infinity kappa 6x9's in the front 5.25" in the back powered by some type of 4 channel amp.
It is not a stock system, and the poping noise is coming from all six speakers, I'm running my speaker cable directly to my amp which is a kenwood 4 channel, my out put RCA cable to my head unit which is also a Kenwood. I had pulled my speakers out and check them in my car, so the speakers work fine.
sounds like the amp is sending feedback into the head unit.. check ground on amp.. and try to disconnect the remote wire from the amp.. and jump the hot over.. on the amp to the remote.. see if that cures it.. if it does.. you might have to put a toggle switch in it
thats happened to me on more then one ocassion and i did exaclt what brother dishdude said and its worked everytime
i guess it has to do with something with the internal circuitry between the amp and the head unit.
i dunno,, i cant remember exactly what it was... its been about a minuite since ive installed on a full time bassis.
