last year i bought a used hypertech 50006 for 2001, soley to recalibrate my speedo. It wasn't locked and functions fine and reprograms the pcm with its performance program. However, it will NOT give me the prompt for the tire size change.

hypertech says the speedo recalibration only works with certain models of the kelsey-hayes brake controller. so i called hypertch to ask them what specifically what models did it work/not work with, and whether it was version related and was there anything i could do, including having it reflashed and/or writing them a check. They were USELESS!!!!!

so how about it people. those who tried the tire size change - complete this chart and lets figure this out

your ABS - REAR only. (vs all 4 wheel). if its all 4 wheel it will have a wire to the front hub tone ring

I have an 01 that the hypertech worked on for recalibrating the speedo. My hypertech version is 6 17 25

 

It worked for me, don't have the version number handy though

 

For those that responded.... do you have all wheel ABS or just the standard rear wheel only ABS???

thanks for the responses, but i already know that it works for most people, but not all. what i'm asking is for people to fill out this survey form with their Brake Controller part number and other data.....see mine at the top. the purpose is to identify the pattern where it doesn't work. thanks, doug.
