I am not sure on the V10 but I had my fuel pump go out on the highway before and what I did was disconnect the fuel line from the fuel line rail tand had some one crank it over to see if I was getting fuel or not.

easiest way to tell if its a fuel problem is to disconnect air box and spray some carb cleaner in the throttle body. (not to much) if the engine starts or chokes and stalls then it is not getting fuel.

from there it could be fuse, relay, pump or wiring.

ok I put soom fuel through the air box and it did choke some this means it is not getting fuel on its own. but does this mean it is the fuel pump? and is there a filter in line or where will I find it I think this would be a good time to put on a new fuel filter. thanks to all that help.

If its not getting fuel, your most likely culprit is the pump. You may be able to confirm by using a mallet and hitting the bottom of the tank while having someone crank the engine. If it starts its the pump and it has a bad brush. That is a hit or miss diag and if it doesnt start its inconclusive.

you can try swapping the relay in the power distribution box with another to test. (check and make sure another one in the box has the sam part#)

the most dead on way is to check for voltage at the pump. if you can get to it, hook up a test light to the proper terminals at the pump, crank the engine. If it lights up its the pump. Most times you have to drop the tank to check that though.
