Default Hypertech power programmer 3 or Max energy

Today is the day that I decide what programmer I want, I need help. Is it worth the extra $ for the Hypertech Max Energy or should I go with the Hypertech Power Programmer 3? Really other than being able to update the Max Energy whats the difference?

I would save the money and go with the PP III, however I have not used either one.

I would save up a little more money and go with a flash from B&G. It blows everything else away. I've tried a Hypertech, a Mopar Performance PCM, and now this B&G, and there is no comparison. If you want the other features that come with the Hypertech (tire adjust, rev limit adjust, etc...), then maybe, but I found I never used them (or only did them once) If your goal is performance though, I would't go the Hypertech or Superchips route when something so much better is out there.

Building a little on that;
KRC has the ability totune the SCT flasher now. Most of what B&G sends out are "canned" tunes.

Sort of. If you talk to Dave at B&G, you'll know that he can tune it however you want, you just need to give him the parameters. There is nothing wrong with the canned tunes though for most of our trucks. Few of us are running mods that require more then that.

You're right- He will do whatever you want, but I don't think he has the set-up knowledge that Marty does- whether it be a bone stock 318 or a408 with induction.Most of what B&G sends out are the three base flashes.Dave is a good guy and was instrumental in ther&d that went into the new SCT software. That makes him Da' man in my book.I am excited about the new SCT stuff. It kind of moves Mopar up there with Chevy and fordin that we now have aftermarket software so we don't have to manipulate sensors or go through the time and expense of installing a stand alone to fine tune.

You can't take it with you bro. Besides, as far as hobbies go, it could be worse. Before the kids came along, I was into sailing.

navyfc- Sorry to jack the thread, but Silver Dodge is right, you will be way happier with a flash from KRC, B&G, Tom Fox, or a local dyno running SCT software. Any of those will be way better than a Hypertech.
