Default True Duals with Glasspacks Video

Well, here is the link to the video of my new exhaust:
http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...alebsTruck.flv

I think it sounds pretty good. Not quite as good as in person, but that's all I can do without a pro camera. The setup is True Duals straight off of the headers with 2.25" or 2.5" piping, whichever is the same as the original piping, into 2 separate 3" glasspacks, out to two 3" chrome tips. It has 2 sensors hooked up and everything seems to be running good. What do you guys think?

I don't know...my brother has that 7.5L F-350, and he ran a 2.5" true dual off the manifolds with dynomax bullets with magnaflow cats, and 22"x4" magnaflow tips in a "dual rear sweep exit" and I think the quality is a lot better sounding than these. His idle is nice and throaty sounding, but when he is really on it, the mother just chirps so damn loud!...Personally, I think you should exchange your glasspacks for dynomax bullets (they are in the same genre of glasspacks), they are essentially straight pipes with a little bit of packing material in them, yet it still gives you a nice rich tone. I think your set-up is nice though, and it's a nice looking truck, but honestly I think the sound is downgrading your truck, it's too nice looking to have that dumpy blatty sound...you would really like the dynomax bullets because it keeps that deep aggressive v8 tone like a flowmaster, but then it goes crazy when your on it. I hope this doesn't come off as offensive, because I only mean good man. Losing horsepower/toque with a true dual is a big myth by the way, my brother never lost one ounce of torque with that true dual, now she breathes, gets better mpg, and the upper-end on her is insane! You're highway power will really take off once you try it, the true dual really excells at the higher speeds, it's awesome!

It doesn't come off offensive at all man. I appreciate it. It kind of has a unique sound, and the recording isn't quite as good as it is in real life. I like the sound of it, but that doesn't mean that I will keep it this way forever. I just don't have the money to try anything else right now, so I'll probably keep it this way for a pretty good while. I agree that the upper end is definitely better now and is much better cruisin' at highway speeds. Thanks a lot for the input and I may try the dynomax bullets sometime.

Thanks a lot, yeah my girlfriend is funny. I think it's just the glasspacks doing their thing, but I may have to look into it to see for sure.

Hey also, was there an h-pipe installed, just curious. I remember when my brother had his true dual put in, they didn't put in an h-pipe, so for the longest time it sounded so weird haha, finally we realized it was because the idiots didnt put one in! It definately doesnt sound bad, but I know this truck can make an even better note, the dynomax bullets are relatively cheap as well, but as you said, definately wear in the glasspacks for awhile hah! Nice truck bud

Actually there is not an H-pipe. Would it make that big of a difference with one in it? I know it could probably sound better,so eventually I'm sure I'll try some different things, but I'll enjoy this for now. At least most Dodges have a unique sound and don't sound like every other truck going down the road. Thanks a lot man.

Yeah, the h-pipe made a huge differance, less chirping. It also connects the system together as opposed to the sound of two banks firing at different times which can cause some blatty sounds that can be misconcieved as a misfiring truck lol! But i'm sure it is nice and loud though, but the h-pipe connects that beautiful true dual together, makes a deeper sound, and eliminates any of that strange misfiring blatty noise you get of two of the piston banks firing at different times lol!
