Need help ASAP Please!
Today on the way to work everything was grand! I pulled a holeshot on a ford and beat him, kept on my way i was doing about 70 uphill and my truck started making a shuttering feeling (real fast stop and go like). My RPMS were jumping back and forth (not badly only a few hundred but.. nothing normal!). I threw a check engine light and it flashed it a few times then went off and i let off the gas until low speeds then got back on it and it was ok.. On the ride home after checking my oil, (alittle black, but full (no where near my 3000 spot tho)) It ran fine, i got back up to 70 (down hill this time) ran fine, no light, only rm jumping i would say is about 50 rpms, nothing noticable unless looking for it, never looked before that might be normal. Any ideas guys? Any ideads on what to check, what should i do? anything? I cant afford this to be a serious matter.
If your truck is 96 or newer it will have an obd2 connector & your computer stores trouble codes, it will narrow your problem down to a specific area, you need to retreive them. If you have obd1 system the computer stores some codes but they are very vague, still better than no computer help. Otherwise it could be anything, I would start checking filters, ignition system, then electrical connections.
first off.. the flashing c/e light. means it was a misfire code... if it went off.. and its not doing it anymore.. i would say .. its a fluke.. coulda got one of the wires hot workin it so hard... or the plug is starting to fail.. i would guess along that line.. nothing serious.. might be a good idea to change plugs and wires..
I had a similar experience awhile ago while going up hill, engine light flashed and I had loss of power. My gas tank was low and I think the motor was starving for fuel. Filled my tank and the problem has'nt reoccured.
Fuel pump is brand new. I just put it in 500 miles ago. I have a half tank! I drove alittle more its running fine...

I don't know what your mods are but the same exact thing happend to me when my 6 and 8 cylinder spark plug wires were touching my headers.....Check all your wires and plugs, you definetly have a misfire code....
