Default Mud (pics for Tani)

For all those (Tani) that give me crap (Tani) about how clean my truck is (Tani), here's some pics for you. FYI, this is why you don't want to run a round filter setup if you like to play in the mud. I did a quick filter change and was on my way again, but you can see why a snorkel or the stock set-up is better for you mud guys.

More pictures to come from todays trial ride. It was a great time. This are just some pics of some fun we had when we stopped for lunch.

So much for being one of the cleanest trucks on the site. Better clean the engine bay and underneathup before it looks like the other (Tani) dirty a$$ trucks. The under hood pics just won't be the same.....

It was fun. Made several passes through those smaller puddles. I let the diesels take on the big holes (really needed the torque to pull out of them). Plus, that was about all my open filter could handle. I'm not worried about it cleaning up though, I'll have it looking like it did before in no time. In fact, I have no choice. I have to take my intake off soon, so i'm going to have to get it nice and clean for that.

Diesels can't hold up to gas trucks in the mud, they're to top heavy. They nose dive in the deep mud.

This wasn't really thick mud, it was just deep puddles of muddy water. You really needed a lot of torque to pull through the deep water, or just drive real slow, but what fun is that. I agree with you though if the mud is the thick kind.

Check out the "Colorado Roundup" thread for more pics of the other trucks hitting these holes.

I'll bet anything there was a 10 gallon jug of soapy water, a sponge, chamois, and a can of engine cleaner in the back of the bed and Silver gotafter it right after he drove thru the mud.

Silver, maybe you could do an engine detailing DIY article, you've obviously got the expertise.

this weekend was the archery deer season opener here in SD. so i took the truck out to some of the more "scenic" trails & got a little dirty too.

Yes i know the trail i'm on in the picture is nicely packed gravel, i didn't want to stop in the thick mud to take a pic, was sinking every time i stopped, lol
