Default Tranny in distress?!?!

So I'm heading down to school today on the interstate doin bout 70 and my truck starts to cut in and out... At first i thought it might have been something to do with the hypertech i installed so i pulled over programed back to stock but it is still doing it. So then I thought I might have got some gas with water in it so I buy 2 bottles of dry gas to dump in. Still surging forward and cutting in and out of power(now when i say surging i mean it shakes the whole damn truck to the point it makes me sick to keep driving)... it does not do it at an idle or when i put it into neutral and rev the motor. I am cluess to what this may be my first guess was the TPS sensor but when i noticed funny RPM's and the smell of tranny fluid I had second thoughts......Any ideas of what is wrong??

smell of transmission fluid is a bad sign, probably overheating.
surging rpm's could be a number of things, including simple faulty tps or excessive drag/slipping from trans,
i'd carry it to a transmission expert or two and let them drive it.

It could be a misfire. when it starts to shake tap the brake pedal while you keep the gas steady. see if the shake lessens or goes away. Tapping the brake will disengage he converter lockup.

Have you ck'ed all your fluid levels? and is your ck engine lite on? Can you do a power brake to see if the engine is misfiring. Power brake = Foot on the brake and engine running, give it some gas. If there is a misfire the engine will run badly.
