Default Cracked block???

So that 5.9L magnum motori built last year for my buddies 95 ram has been running great until my bud calles me up yesterday and says oil pressure light came on, it has 5,000 miles on it. So i'm like ****. I run out and check it. Starts cold with 65psi at idle as it warms up it drops to 5psi. Cut open filter absolutely no metal i'm like what the heck. I pulled the pan and popped off a bearing cap for a main and it looks like brand new and the rods all feel nice. So i'm looking and i can see a clean line between the crank and cam right were the oil feed passage is to feed the cam bearing from the main. Anyone ever see a 5.9L block crack there??? Is there a casting line there? Its hard to tell from under the truck but since it's a silver line i think its cracked there and as it warms up the crack opens up and causes a massive internal leak?? Anyone seen this?? Are these blocks know for cracking? Is there a better casting number one out there or????????????????
