I drove down to the truck stop and weighed my truck. It came in at 4480 with me in it, so the truck is down to about 4240 itself. Today Im going to remove the rest of the weight thats in there and weigh each thing to see just how much it weighs when i go to the track.

 

Is that with all the power options?

 

Damn, you got that thing pretty light. Mine weighs like 5500 with me in it. So like 5300 empty. You're a thousand pounds lighter.

 

yea, unfortunately my truck has every option, minus the ones that count....posi and 3.92s.

I just took out everything to bring it to race weight too


Passenger seat- 50lbs
Bed cover- 43 lbs
Center seat, including junk in it- 37lbs
4 coolant bottles - 18 lbs
Junk-13.4 lbs
Junk holder behind seat- 6.8 lbs
Floor mat- 3.6lbs
Old exhaust hangars- 2.6 lbs
Loose change- 1.4 lbs.
Total-175.8lbs

+Shackles, helmet, and race belt- 3.6 lbs.
End total- 172.2lbs

so my race weight is 4067.8 Lbs. AWESOME!

Also, when I weighed my truck, i had a half tank in there, so thats about 13 gal at 6.25lbs per gallon. I use 2lbs of fuel per run, so im going to try to have about 4 gallons in there which would give me 12 runs, which I more than likely wont get in. So, thats 9 less gallons @ 6.25 a gal dropping another 56.25 lbs off of that. so that would bring my race weight to 4011.5Dang. Im gonna find another 12 lbs to take out so that i can be sub 2 tons.

 

1.4 lbs. of loose change?

I think I might actually be into the very high 3900 pound range, my truck has no power options minus windows.

I took out the AC, Power Steering, a buddy of mine is in the middle of gutting out my tail gate ATM, I took off the tow bracket, when I race I will only have a Driver seat as well.

This makes me very excited.

nice. I still have my air conditioning, and the power steering stuff in there. But i do have my tailgate off, my hitch off, my bumper off, my spare tire, out, body kit off, bed cover out, seats, and all misc. items. Taking off the ac and power steering might be the way to go. I think im gonna take out the a/c atleast.
