Hey Dodge Ram fans. One question. I just put in a flowmaster exhaust on my truck. I love the way it sounds. But recently I have figured out that I want it louder. I was thinking of putting some headers on my truck. Will the header make an improvement in making it louder? I don't want it annoying loud, just a little louder, that's all. Does anyone recommend any headers that they'vehad goodperformance out of? Thanks.

My headers (Edelbrock shorties) did not make the exhaust any louder, only the underhood noise louder. The high flow Magnaflow cat made my exhaust louder though. Both the cat and headers made mostly a top end performance difference.

if you want loud, dump it right after the cat w/o a muffler... if that's too loud then add your muffler back and move it rearward, then dump it.

If you are still interested. I just installed a set of stainless headers that I bought off ebay for 190 dollars. Thick, heavy 3/8 flanges and very good welds. One word of advice DO NOT use the provided hardware. Go to your local parts store and get a set of header bolts. This set is a direct bolt on to stock down tubes. Have driven around 100 miles and they have only slightly blued.

A WHILE BACK I HAD A CATBACK FLOWMASTER DUAL EX. AND THEN ADDED SHORTY HEADERS A YEAR LATER AND I DID NOT NOTICE A DIFFERENCE IN SOUND.IT WOULD BE LOUDER IF YOU COULD MAKE IT A TRUE DUAL EX. BUT THE GAS TANK IS IN THE WAY.

So adding anflowmaster cat converter would make it louder? How muchdo they run in price?

Thanks bouncer. I'm currently running a dual exhaust. Will that fit my application?

It's a Magnaflow cat, and yes, it made it louder. Mine was paid for by the Chyrsler cat recall awhile back, but i bet it was about $225 installed.

You can buy the PS Headers without the y-pipe and run true duals or you can get it with the y-pipe and do a single to dual pipe exhaust so yes they probably would fit.
