Sputtering when wet.
Your distributor cap may be getting wet, check if it is, if it is spray it down with WD-40 that will make the water bead off of it, check your TPS sensor too for the same problem.
That should really only happen if going through deep water.
It could also be your crankshaft position sensor, if it gets wet it could lose track of the timing.
Not sure if those are your problems but I would check it out.

A cracked distributor cap is my guess. Had the same type of moisture issues in the past with both my truck and my folk's truck too.

It's your plug wires. Get a set of MSD wires and the problem will be solved. While your at it change your cap and rotor.

Check your wires though it could be them.
Take it to a car wash, and spray it while it's running. When you hear it sputter like it does in puddles, then whatever you just sprayed is going to be the source of the problem.

Don't need to take it to a car wash. Get a spray bottle and mist the wires at night with the engine compartment bulb removed. You will see the arcing if you look real close. Probably back by the rear of the heads where the wire are bunched. Wires don't have to be cracked. The 8mm wires will allow arcing especially after they get old. That is why they have a special wire routing. 8.5mm MSD wires took care of my problem. My truck would miss on foggy or rainy mornings. After the change, nothing but smooooth.
Good Luck.
