Default Rear Drum Brake Squeal

YES DRUMS! They squeal like a pig when applying firm pedal pressure while moving slow. What causes this? They were rebuilt with everything new about 200 miles ago.

I had this problem on my dads sonoma, take off the drum and make sure that all the springs are in there nice and tight, my dads sonoma had a spring that was slightly rubbing against the drum causing a loud squeel.

Okay, here is what it was. The metal part of the brake shoe was making contact with the brake housing right at the top, above the cylinder, close to where the springs attach. A little sanding and EXTREMELY light grease spot took care of it.
