Default Ok now on to the problem

Ok now that everyone has givin me their MPT inputs i can definatly see i have a problem somewhere.

Somethings i have narrowed it down to are:
1. Cat plugged
2. Some wires are stripped down lookin, (dunno if this has anything to do with it but i dunno)
3. Tranny goin bad... (pan leak still wont stop btw)

Any ideas to somethin i could have missed.

Im gonna have my cat pressure tested tommrow to see if thats the problem, but im lookin for input. Ive changed out the tps, and a new (used 75,000 miles) engine was just put in about a month or 2 ago. So it shouldnt be somethin like the plenum... at least i hope not

Also, if the cat is clogged, im just gonna go straight pipes, yalls opinion on that is what?

Oh yea, AAA, dont bother replyin to this, you are the least helpful out of the forum.

Checked your plenum again anyway? Also, you can check your cat easily with a thermostat.

Infrared thermometer ( I think you mean) ----- but really sounds like a plugged cat converter. If it's really badly plugged - you will be able to feel very exhaust output at the tailpipe while the engine is revved. Just don't burn yourself.

Your truck is pre OBDII so chopping off the cat shouldn't cause any problems. Consider a new O2 senor while your down there too.

thanks guys. how much exaust should you be feelin sittin at idle? im barely feelin any.

im def choppin out the cat, dont have much money right now so thats prolly best. how would i rig the o2's so it wont throw codes... not like it matters cause my cel is constantly on. Accordin to the previous owner the cel has always been on, even after the new engine. Maybe the o2's are throwin this and never got checked?
