I have tried many different products to clean the lenses on the firetrucks, duty cars, and my personal ride. I have found that a tub of buffing compound and a soft cloth work better than all those others. Cheaper too. I have tried plasticx, mothers, and a few others. The buffing compound seems to work faster and lasts longer. I always made sure to put a layer of wax on it after I was done which probably helps.

Not bad, I kind oflike how they aren't all "jeweled up" like the stock lights. Nice flat clean lines.

Did you notice a change in thelight pattern on the road? Is it more focused or diffused (spread out)? My stock lights seem to really focus the light in a "spot light" type of beam, and I don'tilluminate the side of the road as much as I'd like. I've been looking for something that is still powerful but a more uniform spread, as I currently worry more about animals on the side of the road than what's in front of me.

they have more of a diffused beam instead of the stock spot beams..out, these 1 piece typesuse a cap in front of the bulb that bounces the light back onto the reflector and out over the road and the clear fronts let a lot more light through, so your view is much improved, they have one flaw i gotta point out is that there arent any adjustment screws but as long as you install them right it doesnt matter, they pass all regulations and shine just rightbut if your truck has a 6"+ lift on it, it may or may not work as good as non lifted, but i cant say for sure on that, its just a guess. and about the animals yea ive already gotten my moneys worth out of em, came across a deer last summer and actually managed to see the twinkle in his eye as he was jumping onto the road and avoided him, as opposed to gettin deer meat for dinner....which isnt that fun when its done w/o a gun lol

Too bad noone makes a one peice headlight like those for the sport versions with the dual bulbs. I really like the one peice look, especially in the black like that.

Just going to have to replace my headlights with OEM type replacements [:'(]
These are the closest thing I have found for us Sport guys

Seems like this question comes up in every forum. There needs to be some sort of class action suit against the manufactuers or at the very least they need make sure the consumer is aware of the problem / issue so that we may prevent the discoloration/ oxidation of the plastic headlight lens before it needs to be fully restored. Anyway,I was one of those that really didn't keep an eye out for this issue and low and behold my truck got the "headlight cancer" as some would say. I searched on the net for ways to restore the headlights or some type of headlight cleaner only to read a lot of forums / threads that said to use stuff like oven cleaner, or brake fluid, (by the way don't try these methods---it will clear it, but it eats the plastic & you will soon need to replace them because you would have now caused permanent damage to the integrity of the lens). But there were quite a few threads about using Mothers Polish or a metal Polish---but they always ended saying the same thing that they had to go back and do it again and again. Another method or the best method I came across form my reading was a combination of wet sanding and using the polish, but in order for it not to quickly revert back to the cloudiness, you must properly seal the headlight lens with a sealer. This sealer must be a UV inhibitor sealer, much likewhat the manufactuers put on the headlight lenses initially but just over time, sun exposure, and driving conditions it wears this coating down and eventually you will get the "headlight cancer". Once I was armed with this information I proceeded with my search and came across a company called The Headlight Solution, they restore headlights locally and I gave them a call. They were very nice and informative as well as there website http://www.headlightsolution.net Unfornately I was out of their service area, but I was told they sell a headlight cleaner or a headlight restoration kit so I went ahead and purchased Kit # 2 and I am very glad I did, it was quite easy to do. Even a Poindextercould do it----lol. It has now been almost 6 months and they still look beautiful, I only wished I took before and after pictures because it was a huge difference. The kit comes with everything you need to restore the headlights and I even had enough to do my wifes Dodge Caravan and my daughters Honda Civic. I was very satisfied with them, The Headlight Solution, so give them a try, like I said I'm glad I did, & we can even see better at night-------------sorry for rambling on. Hope this helps, and good luck.

P.S. I also checked on that Pittmans here is one of there feedback from ebay..........the product seems a little far fetched that a couple of drops could have attempted to cure my "headlight cancer" it was really badly discolored and had a gritty feel to it.

completely useless. Product does nothing to improve lenses don't waste your $

I checked out Headlight solutions on ebay and it would appear that since they started selling in 2004 they have not sold one headlight cleaning kit on ebay.
They don't even have one feedback remark concerning their product
Their most recent sales were of miscellanious objects.
http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...ab=AllFeedback
I checked out their site and its the same box of abrasive creams and sandpaper everyone else is using
whats so special about that?
They even wrote a guide on ebay trying to help sell their product.
http://reviews.ebay.com/Headlight-Re...00000004254690
Their sales were non existant.
I checked out Pittman's feedback too. Out of hundreds of positive feedback you ignore them and dig to find ONE to base your opinion on? Thats incrediable.
I have used Pittmans based on the feedback of others and found it to be just as their consumers describe it.

Youre right there ought to be a law against purposly spreading misinformation in order to sale a $3.00 box of sandpaper tape and plastic polish under the guise of a headlight cleaning kit.

i used the cheep permatex solution.. bought 2 kits for one lamp (just in case) used a full kit on the lamp and worked pretty well.. noticable difference at night... about almost a year later the oxy came back so i used the other kit and it worked really well.. yet again.. and still looks ok to keep around for another year... just be carefull.. if your lamps are like mine and have the little knobbers that stick out to help focus the beem.. them sonsabitches can be real knuck busters... i also used a soft sanding block with the wetpaper on it to help apply even pressure.,

so yea,, for a cheep solution.. go pickyourself up a set or two and try them out... what do you have to loose.. putting a bnuch of really little scratches into a headlight thats already screwed up!..

ps break parts cleaner doesnt work to clean them... it actually does the opposite and causes the oxydation just way faster
