BOOST VALVE PLATE replacement help
I have the reoccuring code 1740 coming from my priceless dodge. I plan on changing the Boost Valve plate this weekend. I got the part from dodge for 5 bucks and a tranmission/filter kit from shucks for $20 bucks. I have the ATF+4 and my manual (from merry christmas thread). From looking at the diagrams I can see that the Boost Valve plate is located on the valve body. Should I be able to replace the cover without having to pull the valve body. Anyone done this yet? Will the plate be in front of my face once the pan and filter are our of the way, or on the other side of the vavle body?
If you've done this job yet, how did it go and did it fix the engine light problem? Any suggestions please!

Its a 2001 dodge magnum 5.9 L. Automatic Tranny RE6 I believe. Im going to do the job tomarrow. I hope I don't find any metel deposits while changin it out though.
after reading some threads, I think I have to remove the tranny pan and filter. Then remove the valve body bolts and lower the valve body. Without having to remove the attached wiring, I will be able to replace the boost valve cover on the top side. I've already checked the diameter of the hole in the new boost cover using the nibs on a venier caliper. Imeasured .063" instead of the .069". There is also a small margin of error because the caliper was not digital, and .063" islarger than the original hole diameter of .04".
I plan to let the truck sit for as long as possible to get most of the fluid out. I can then install the valve body bolts, new filter, gasket and cleaned-out tranny pan. Using my manual I can then add the correct amount of ATF +4 and have a sweet, properly working tranny. Any other suggestions? Should I take photos and post them? I get to use my father in-law's shop. Hes a mechanic and has everything anyone would think of having. Very organized. He even has a cool parts washer and heated floors. (we live in alaska)

As long as you are in there it maybe a good idea to replace the governer preasure solinoid and sensor, becasue they are also known for shorting out and causeing problems. Also pretty cheap.
