ok guys im new to the dodge forum but i spend lots of time on my jeep forum and i hope you guys are a big of a help as the jeepers are... ok here is one of many questions my 1998 ram 1500 5.2L 65000 it seems to wander when i drive it .. kinda like my fathers old caddy.. meaning the steering wheel has play in it to go straight you have to move the steering wheel back and forth to keep her straight..... thanks for any help

mine was doing the same thing , i think you can replace the ends called luke links i never tryed it i just replace the bar 300.00 reason why it wonders cause the axle is moving back and forth..

All you need to do is adjust your steering box. There is a diy on this forum for it. a very easy fix. I did mine and it changed my truck.

could be a combination of the trac bar and the steering box, that is what mine was like when i bought it.

I take it the Trac Bar is a 4WD only piece. He didn't state he has a 4WD; otherwise, I agree that it's the steering box that needs adjustment.

I just ordered a repair kit from Luke's Link http://www.lukeslink.com/ for my track bar. It's supposed to be the cat's meow. Total cost for the repair ends will be about $80 delivered. If you have someone move the steering wheel while you look underneath the front end, engine off, you'll likely see for sure what's wrong that is causing the wandering. I also adjusted my steering box and that made a huge difference.
