Default Fuel Vent hose (link to pic)

Need your help. Dodge wants me to buy a new tank, $509, for this tiny little bit of corrosion. I can't see really well but it feels like this is mounted into a rubber grommet. Has anyone fixed this without replacing the tank? I'm thinking I can buy a 90 degree pvc that is the same diamater as teh vent hose, but I'm not sure if i can connect it. I know somebody out there is also too cheap to buy a new tank, how'd you fix this?

sorry about the link, had a little trouble uploading the picture to the forum.

Thanks in advance,
ryan

Oh, I didn't go to the dealer. Just called them after I exhausted all other parts avenues. Also, the picture doesn't do it justice, it's too big of a hole to jb weld,it needs a patch or maybe atiny dutch boy to put his finger in there. If you know where to get tiny dutch boys, don'tpost it, that might make us all liable.

Can't see them well from the picture, but it feels there are notches or protrusions at the bottom of the elbow. I would have sworn it was plastic by the feel of it, but it doesn't look that way in the picture.

you can fix it with tape and jb-weld, or a new plastic elbow. if you can get a few pieces of tape around it first, and then put a few small coats of jb-weld on it. i'm guessing you're getting a lot of odor from it, so you'll know when its sealed. if you can't reach it, or just feel like it, you can either drop the tank or raise the bed to get good access to it. if you get that far, you might even go ahead and replace fuel pump/filter.
