Tool Question- tailgate

Default Tool Question- tailgate

I have a 98 Ram 1500. I am replacing the straps that hold up the tailgate. What size Torx socket is needed ?

Looks like your going to nee T-45 socket.

On my 2000 the cables snapped i didnt need to remove the screw. Just got ones and hold door halfway up and the cables had room to remove and swapped them out. Took a few minutes cables were a couple dollars.

I had to replace both of mine. I got them from www.lmctruck.com and they are factory replacements. They were $9.95 each and well worth it. It took only 5 minutes to do.
