Has anyone ever took out the steering column on these trucks???

I looked into it a little and it doesnt look too bad, but I wasent sure about where I disconnect the steering shaft at... like outside of the firewall...
I am taking it apart, hoping to get to all of the bushings and I will turn new ones up and make sure they are nice and lubed... My wheel is getting a really nasty squak when I turn it, and there is a clunk at certain spots... so I want to take care of it...

Any ideas to share? diagrams?
