2000 5.9L Gears???
Sorry if this has been posted, but I did a quick search and didnt quite find the info I was looking for. Anyways, I am curious about putting gears into my 2000 ram 5.9L. I tow my jeep a lot, and once I get going it tows like a charm, but just starting off is a little rough. I currently only have the 3.55, so I was thining of going with 4.10. Does anyone know what kind of $$$ im looking at for gears plus installation (I dont have the equipment available to me to set the gears correctly). Also, who has the best price on gears.
Thanks in advance.

roughly 220 for gears, 100 for master install kit, 20 for lube, 250-350 for labor.
X 2 if it's 4WD.

offroadzj- For gears, master install kit, oil, and labor, I paid $950. This was for a 2wd. Make sure the mechanic is experienced and knowledgeable regarding gear installation. It is not easy and very complex. Also, make sure the mechanic guarantee's his work just in case a problem arises after installation. Hope this helps.
Price depends on location. However if quoted more than 1500 (for parts and labor total for BOTH axles) then I would shop around. I can get it done here for about 1200 here assuming I get the gears and install kits and bring them to the shop. Sometimes you can even get it done cheaper if you're willing to pull the axles and bring them in, but depending on how much cheaper it may be a waste of your time.
